With the blessings of Iswara and Gurus, a unique Gurukulam has been running in Nanganallur, Chennai. Throughout India and especially in Tamilnadu, there are several Veda Patashalas that are doing the most sacred duty of teaching Veda mantras to students. A few patashalas also teach Sastras to some advanced students. This patashala is unique because it focuses exclusively on Sastra studies.

Currently, there are 10 residential students and 17 online students. Multiple students have excelled at different levels of Shastra exams held by Tenali and Ahmednagar institutions.

Residential students study Shastras and also take up NIOS 10th and 12th standard examinations and some are pursuing undergraduate studies.

There is a great need for Sastra scholars in the country. There is a revival of Sastra studies starting to happen throughout India by the efforts of great Sastra scholars. Also, several universities and the government are supporting the same through the new education policy under the name of Indic Knowledge Systems. The present day youth is also showing curiosity and interest in such studies. Samskritam community is growing with the work done by several organizations. With all this, a need is felt to have an exclusive learning center focused on Sastras alone. The goal is to produce extraordinary scholars who can bring out the knowledge available in Sastras for the benefit of all.

The Gurukulam is started with the anugraham and blessings of Kanchi Sankaracharya and Sringeri Sankaracharya. Kudali Swamiji has been guiding our efforts.
